IRAF is the primary program used by the BYU Astronomy Research group to analyze data. Included in the BYU Astro Docs Wiki are tutorials and information that students have written to help students with their research. Other IRAF information sources are also linked on the Wiki and the main BYU Astronomy Group website

IRAF stands for Image Reduction and Analysis Facility. It is a general purpose software system for the reduction and analysis of astronomical data. IRAF is written and supported by the IRAF programming group at the National Optical Astronomy Observatories (NOAO) in Tucson, Arizona. NOAO is operated by the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy Inc. (AURA), under cooperative agreement with the National Science Foundation
