16 Inch Telescope
The 16" telescope is used for student and faculty research
as well as for the Physics 329 and Physics 529 classes.
Telescope Installation
This telescope is computer controlled and has a CCD camera system to show faint and
low surface brightness objects.

found in the constellation Lyra. There are approximately 100,000 stars in this cluster. |

This is the Ring Nebula. It is the remains
of a star that let go of its outer layers. In the center is the white dwarf remnant. This is
sometimes referred to as the space cheerio. |

This is M51, the Whirlpool Galaxy.
It is believed the smaller galaxy is colliding with the larger. Notice the spiral
arms and the bright nucleus. |
